Roam Bean Coffee News

The Story Behind Roam Bean Coffee

Roam Bean Coffee started with a dream back in 1992. My parents opened their first coffee shop in a small town in Vietnam, right next to National Highway 51. Drivers, tourists, and locals would stop by for a cup of coffee that my parents made with love and care. It didn’t matter where people came from—our coffee brought everyone together.

American Dream

After ten years of running the shop, my parents decided to retire. My brother took over but didn’t want to continue the business. Not long after, our family moved to California, leaving the coffee shop behind. Starting over in a new country wasn’t easy. We didn’t know English, didn’t have resources, and opening a business felt impossible.

A Dream Brewed: The Journey to Roam Bean Coffee

For years, I held on to my parents’ recipes and the dream of bringing our coffee back to life. Fifteen years later, I opened Roam Bean Coffee as my first business. It’s a small take-out coffee shop, but it’s everything I hoped for. Every cup I make is inspired by my parents’ dedication and the memories of our shop in Vietnam.

In Loving Memory of My Dad

My dad passed away recently, and though he couldn’t be here to help, I feel him with me in every step. Roam Bean Coffee is my way of honoring him and my mom. Their dream is now my mission: to share the coffee they loved making with people in America.

A Vision for the Future

This is just the beginning. One day, I hope to create a space where you can sit, relax, and stay awhile. For now, our take-out coffee is ready for you, wherever you roam.

What is Drip Coffee?

Our Vietnamese drip coffee is a true taste experience. We use more coffee per cup than a regular espresso, resulting in a deep, rich flavor that’s incredibly smooth. The slow drip process brings out the best in every drop. One sip, and you'll discover a whole new way to enjoy coffee.

The Differences

Vietnamese Phin Filter vs. Espresso Machine

Vietnamese Phin Filter allows:

Richer Flavor: Takes longer to brew (4-5 minutes), but the taste is stronger and smoother.

Less Bitter: The slow drip makes the coffee balanced and smooth.

More Coffee, More Taste: Uses 4 times more coffee powder for a bold cup.
